Hospital Director of Pharmacy - Joliet, IL
This opportunity is for a Director of Pharmacy role serving as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a behavioral health hospital in Joliet, IL. The position spans 13 weeks with a Monday to Friday day schedule, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, plus on-call responsibilities seven days a week.
The pharmacy operates with a small team including one part-time pharmacist and one pharmacy technician who handles restocking duties in an Omnicell automated systemexperience with Omnicell is preferred. This role focuses on pharmacy management and leadership within a psychiatric specialty environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee pharmacy staffing, scheduling, and workflow to ensure smooth operations
- Participate in meetings and maintain clear communication with the care team and management
- Maintain the pharmacys overall functionality and compliance
- Provide monthly progress updates via email and one-on-one meetings with the account manager
- Manage basic financial aspects of the pharmacy department
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Illinois pharmacist with hospital pharmacy experience required
- Proven management experience in a pharmacy setting
- Familiarity with behavioral health or psychiatric pharmacy environments preferred
- Strong communication skills and basic financial knowledge are essential
- Ability to work independently and maintain organizational standards
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- On-call coverage seven days a week
