Director of Pharmacy - Litchfield, Illinois

This opportunity seeks an experienced pharmacy leader to serve as Interim Director of Pharmacy for a 6-week period at a 25-bed facility in Litchfield, IL. The role demands a seasoned professional with proven Director-level leadership capabilities and familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations, ideally including experience with CPS systems.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM 4:30 PM
• Weekends: 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (typically covered by PRN staff)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and daily management of pharmacy services in a hospital setting with an average daily census of 8, serving inpatient, observation, swing bed, and outpatient populations.
• Collaborate closely with the Infection Prevention Specialist to guide the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program and participate actively in the Infection Prevention Committee.
• Lead and facilitate the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee to ensure optimal medication use policies and practices.
• Oversee sterile compounding operations, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards, aligned with action plans from the compliance team.
• Support site automation using Sentri7, manage tech support coordination including order filling, Pyxis, and sterile compounding.
• Drive the conversion to Oracle CPOE.
• Onboard and train new PRN pharmacists and technicians, assessing and delegating appropriate job roles.

Desired Experience:

• Proven Director or senior leadership experience in a pharmacy setting.
• Knowledge or experience with CPS (Computerized Provider Order Entry) preferred.
• Competence in sterile compounding and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with hospital order entry systems and pharmacy automation.
