Hospital Director of Pharmacy in Monticello, FL
An exceptional leadership opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacy professional to serve as Director of Pharmacy at a premier regional healthcare system in Florida. This key executive role offers the chance to lead a diverse team of over 100 pharmacy staff, including six direct reports, across a comprehensive operation supporting a 772-bed Level II Trauma Center with around-the-clock services.
Location: Monticello, FL (direct hire position)
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all pharmacy functions within the acute care hospital system.
- Manage 24/7 pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering quality patient care.
- Supervise and mentor six direct reports, including leadership over inpatient, ambulatory, clinical, sterile compounding, and inventory management teams.
- Collaborate with C-suite executives to align pharmacy services with institutional goals.
- Oversee sterile compounding practices and maintain operational excellence in pharmacy services.
- Lead initiatives that enhance clinical outcomes and operational efficiency within the pharmacy department.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Florida Pharmacist License and Consultant Pharmacist License, or the ability to obtain both promptly.
- Minimum of three years experience as Director of Pharmacy in an acute care inpatient hospital setting.
- At least three years of acute care inpatient hospital pharmacy practice.
- PharmD degree strongly preferred.
- Board certification and completion of pharmacy residency are strong advantages.
- Experience managing large pharmacy teams within complex health systems.
- Knowledge of sterile compounding oversight.
- Familiarity with Level I or Level II Trauma Center pharmacy operations preferred.
- Strong executive presence and proven ability to collaborate effectively with hospital leadership.
