This position offers the opportunity to oversee pharmacy operations within a specialized behavioral health hospital environment. The role requires strong leadership skills to manage a small but vital pharmacy team and maintain seamless daily operations in a psychiatric care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead pharmacy staffing and scheduling to ensure consistent coverage.
  • Facilitate and participate in meetings to align with hospital goals and compliance.
  • Oversee pharmacy maintenance with a focus on behavioral health-specific needs.
  • Communicate regular progress updates via email and monthly one-on-one meetings.
  • Manage pharmacy automation systems, preferably Omnicell, to enhance workflow.
  • Provide on-call support seven days a week in addition to regular hours.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
  • On-call availability seven days per week.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Demonstrated pharmacy management experience, preferably as Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacist in Charge (PIC).
  • Prior hospital pharmacy experience, especially within behavioral health or psychiatric settings.
  • Valid Illinois pharmacy license.
  • Proficiency with pharmacy automation systems such as Omnicell is preferred.
  • Sound communication skills and basic knowledge of financial management related to pharmacy operations.

Environment:

  • Behavioral health hospital specializing in psychiatric care.
  • Team includes one part-time pharmacist and one pharmacy technician responsible for Omnicell restocking.
  • No sterile compounding responsibilities.
