Hospital Director of Pharmacy | San Diego, California
An interim leadership opportunity is available for a Director of Pharmacy at a 70-bed Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital in San Diego, CA. This role requires a skilled pharmacist with demonstrated experience in hospital pharmacy management and the ability to provide comprehensive oversight of pharmacy operations. The position offers a contract duration of 13 weeks with potential for conversion to permanent status.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) for the facility, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including medication distribution, inventory management, and staff supervision.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize medication use and patient care.
- Utilize RX Connect IT system to manage pharmacy workflow and documentation.
- Implement policies and procedures that promote safe and efficient pharmaceutical services.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active California pharmacist license.
- Proven experience as a Director of Pharmacy, preferably within California healthcare settings.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with an ability to manage a pharmacy department effectively.
- Familiarity with LTAC hospital environments and their unique pharmaceutical demands.
- Proficiency with RX Connect or similar pharmacy IT platforms is advantageous.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, day shift.
