Hospital Director of Pharmacy - San Mateo, CA

An opportunity is available for an Interim Director of Pharmacy to lead a 60-bed hospitals pharmacy services in Juneau, AK. This role requires seasoned leadership with a strong background in hospital pharmacy management, ideal for candidates able to secure an Alaska pharmacy license swiftly. The facility prefers candidates interested in a temp-to-hire arrangement but will consider experienced travelers as well.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive oversight of the pharmacy department, including personnel management, compliance adherence, budget control, and purchasing decisions
• Ensure the pharmacy operates efficiently within regulatory requirements and hospital policies
• Collaborate with hospital leadership to support patient care initiatives and pharmacy operations
• Drive continuous improvement in pharmacy practices and workflows

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Current or recent experience as a Director of Pharmacy in a hospital setting
• Familiarity with managing pharmacy budgets, staff, and regulatory compliance
• Ability to obtain an Alaska pharmacy license rapidly; note Alaska no longer requires a law exam, facilitating faster licensure (3-4 weeks)
• Strong leadership and communication skills to engage multidisciplinary teams
