Hospital Director of Pharmacy in Tallahassee, FL
Lead a comprehensive pharmacy operation at a major regional health system serving North Florida and South Georgia. This executive role offers the chance to direct a 24/7 pharmacy within a 772-bed Level II Trauma Center hospital, overseeing a skilled team of over 100 pharmacy professionals, including six direct reports across inpatient, ambulatory, clinical, sterile compounding, and inventory management services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for all pharmacy services at a large acute care hospital.
- Manage and mentor a diverse pharmacy team, including Assistant Directors and Managers overseeing multiple service lines.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain high-quality patient care through effective pharmacy operations.
- Collaborate with C-suite and hospital leadership to align pharmacy initiatives with organizational goals.
- Oversee 24/7 pharmacy operations to support critical care units including trauma, stroke, neonatal, pediatric, cancer care, and psychiatric services.
- Maintain licensure requirements and ensure all staff adhere to pharmacy regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Florida Pharmacist License and Florida Consultant Pharmacist License or ability to obtain both promptly.
- Minimum of three years of Director of Pharmacy experience in an acute care inpatient hospital, non-negotiable.
- At least three years of acute care inpatient hospital pharmacy practice.
- PharmD degree strongly preferred; board certification and residency completion is a plus.
- Proven leadership experience managing large pharmacy teams across various service lines.
- Experience with sterile compounding oversight preferred.
- Familiarity with Level I or II Trauma Center pharmacy operations is highly desirable.
- Strong executive presence with ability to effectively collaborate with hospital leadership.
This is a direct hire opportunity offering a competitive compensation package that includes a base salary competitive with market standards, a $10,000 sign-on bonus, and eligibility for an annual bonus. Relocation assistance is not provided.
