Director of Pharmacy | Wayne, West Virginia

This opportunity is for an Interim Director of Pharmacy who will also serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at a healthcare facility located in Wayne, WV. This position provides critical leadership and administrative oversight during the transition period as the current Director of Pharmacy retires. The contract assignment begins on 8/31/26 and will continue until a permanent Director of Pharmacy is hired.

The role requires full coverage Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with additional responsibilities for on-call availability after each shift and on weekends. This ensures continuous pharmacy leadership and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing all staffing and administrative functions as the Pharmacist in Charge
• Overseeing pharmacy operations and compliance with regulatory standards
• Collaborating closely with the healthcare team to maintain high-quality patient care
• Participating in the onboarding and training process, supported onsite by the retiring Director of Pharmacy

Preferred qualifications and experience include:

• Current West Virginia pharmacist licensure is mandatory
• Previous experience in hospital pharmacy settings is highly valued
• Familiarity with Omnicell systems or similar automated medication management technologies
• Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively guide the pharmacy team
