Travel Hospital Pharmacist in Akron, OH

An opportunity is available for a Hospital Pharmacist to provide expert pharmacy services in a dynamic inpatient hospital setting. This travel position requires flexibility, professionalism, and strong clinical skills to support varied shifts and ensure optimal patient care.

Location: Akron, OH
Duration: 13 weeks
Start Date: November 2
Shift: Varied shifts, including evenings and weekends (typical shift 12:30 PM 9:00 PM)

Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and safely in an inpatient hospital environment
• Collaborate closely with healthcare teams to manage pharmacokinetics dosing, including vancomycin, and administer warfarin therapy
• Utilize electronic medical records system (preferably EPIC, Willow Inpatient) to review and enter patient medication orders
• Provide patient counseling and support medication therapy management
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and best pharmacy practices
• Cover weekend and evening shifts as scheduled to ensure continuous pharmacy services

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active Ohio Pharmacist license in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
• Experience with pharmacokinetic dosing, specifically vancomycin and warfarin management
• Familiarity with EPIC Willow Inpatient EMR system preferred but not mandatory
• Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to work varied shifts and weekends
