Hospital Pharmacist in Alexandria, LA
A 200+ bed community hospital in Alexandria, LA, seeks a Pharmacist for a 13-week contract position starting ASAP. This role offers the opportunity to support a dynamic healthcare environment, working closely with medical staff to ensure optimal medication management and patient care.
Schedule:
- 4 shifts per week
- 10 hours per shift
- Rotating schedule: 6AM-4:30PM, 7AM-5:30PM, or 12:30PM-11PM
- Every other weekend coverage required
Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth pharmacy operations
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses to provide clinical guidance
- Manage pharmacokinetics to optimize drug therapy outcomes
- Utilize EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist with current credentials
- Experience in hospital pharmacy, preferably in a community hospital setting
- Proficient with EPIC and Pyxis systems
- Strong communication and supervisory skills
- Ability to adapt to a rotating and varied schedule
