Hospital Pharmacist | Alexandria, Louisiana

Support patient care at a 200+ bed community hospital in Alexandria, LA, as a Pharmacist on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to utilize your expertise in hospital pharmacy within a dynamic environment that prioritizes patient safety and effective medication management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify physician medication orders accurately and efficiently.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure compliance with protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
• Apply pharmacokinetics principles for individualized patient care.
• Utilize healthcare IT systems including EPIC and Pyxis for medication distribution and documentation.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Louisiana Pharmacist license required.
• Previous experience working in a hospital pharmacy setting strongly preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Familiarity with EPIC and Pyxis systems is advantageous.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills.

Schedule and Location:

• Located in Alexandria, LA.
• Contract duration: 13 weeks.
• Work schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week with rotating hours. Shifts may include 6:00 AM4:30 PM, 7:00 AM5:30 PM, or 12:30 PM11:00 PM.
• Every other weekend work is required.
