Pharmacist Sterile Compounding & Pharmacy Operations

Position Summary
A specialty compounding pharmacy is looking for a Pharmacist with sterile compounding experience to support daily medication production and pharmacy operations.

This position combines hands-on sterile and non-sterile compounding with medication verification, quality control, documentation, dispensing support, and patient counseling. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable following established production procedures.

Primary Duties

• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications according to approved formulations.
• Verify preparations for accuracy and compliance with established standards.
• Perform all required pharmaceutical calculations and documentation.
• Follow SOPs and applicable state and federal pharmacy regulations.
• Adhere to applicable USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards.
• Complete required cleaning and garbing procedures.
• Maintain proper environmental conditions and aseptic technique.
• Operate compounding, production, and computerized equipment.
• Inspect and perform quality-control checks on compounded preparations.
• Maintain organized production areas and prepare workspaces before compounding.
• Monitor the quality, purity, potency, and accuracy of finished preparations.
• Assist dispensing staff and provide operational support when needed.
• Counsel patients regarding medications and OTC products.
• Keep current with changes in compounding procedures, technology, and regulatory standards.

Hours: MondayFriday with several shift options

8:00 AM4:30 PM
9:00 AM5:30 PM
10:30 AM7:00 PM
Preferred shifts may be requested but are not guaranteed.

Required Qualifications

• Active PA Pharmacist license.
• Recent pharmacy experience.
• Sterile compounding experience.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to accurately complete calculations and documentation.
• Commitment to patient safety and quality.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Knowledge of USP <795>, <797>, and <800> is preferred.
