IV Sterile Compounding Home Infusion Pharmacist - Bella Vista, Arkansas

This opportunity offers an engaging role as a pharmacist specializing in home infusion services within a supportive healthcare environment. The position is based in Bella Vista, AR, and follows a contract to hire structure spanning 13 weeks with day shifts from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, including rotation every third weekend.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and responsibly.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns to ensure safe treatment.
• Ensure all medication supplies meet legal requirements and the prescriptions are appropriate for each patient.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records and pharmacy files.
• Provide expert advice to patients on medication usage, possible side effects, and interactions.
• Deliver patient services including smoking cessation, blood pressure, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on proper use and handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications for both external and internal applications, preparing sterile solutions following protocol.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, ensuring smooth pharmacy operations.
• Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies effectively.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to address drug-related patient needs.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current Arkansas pharmacy license is required.
• Proven sterile compounding experience.
• Background in home infusion pharmacy or inpatient hospital settings.
• CPR certification and experience is a significant advantage.
