Hospital Pharmacist in Bellefonte, PA
A permanent opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to serve in both inpatient and ambulatory care roles at a well-respected medical center situated in the scenic State College area, home to Penn State University. Location:
- State College, PA (relocation assistance available)
Schedule:
- Variable day and afternoon shifts
- Primarily 8-hour day shifts
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and entering medication orders accurately and promptly
- Dispensing medications efficiently
- Providing timely and precise drug information and consultation
- Documenting monitoring and evaluation activities using pharmacy computer systems and clinical surveillance programs
- Assisting with operations in sterile compounding areas, ensuring aseptic technique and accuracy
- Preparing high-risk drugs, narcotic infusions, and cytotoxic chemotherapy agents
- Performing drug therapy monitoring per established protocols
- Conducting pharmacist-managed consults and facilitating drug therapy decisions through recommendations or collaborative practice agreements in ambulatory care settings
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- PGY1 residency training or a minimum of 3 years of current clinical experience
- Active Pennsylvania pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Experience with Meditech or similar hospital information systems is a plus
