Inpatient Pharmacist in Bellevue, NE
A rehabilitation hospital is seeking experienced pharmacists to support inpatient pharmacy services. This opportunity involves managing specialized medication therapies such as total parenteral nutrition (TPN) and intravenous (IV) antibiotics for patients primarily on the rehab unit. The hospital focuses exclusively on rehabilitation care, without emergency room or obstetrics services.
Candidates should be prepared to work a Monday through Friday schedule from 8 AM to 4 PM, with rotating weekend shifts including Saturdays. Flexibility and the ability to quickly integrate into the workflow are essential, as the team values self-sufficient pharmacists who can effectively manage complex medication regimens.
The electronic health record system used is Altera Sunrise; training will be provided for those unfamiliar with the platform. This role requires an active Nebraska pharmacist license.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Licensed pharmacist with active Nebraska license
- Experience in hospital inpatient pharmacy settings preferred
- Familiarity or willingness to learn Altera Sunrise system
- Ability to manage specialty therapies such as TPN and IV antibiotics
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced rehab hospital environment
Responsibilities:
- Dispense and verify inpatient medications including TPN and IV antibiotics
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient medication plans
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state, and federal regulations
- Participate in weekend and rotating shifts as scheduled
- Provide accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records
