This Clinical Pharmacy Specialist role focuses on outpatient infusion and oncology within a dynamic acute care environment. The position is based in Gainesville, GA, at a 629-bed acute care hospital known for its comprehensive services including emergency care, critical care, oncology, and neuroscience. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, supporting a balanced work-life routine. This is a direct-hire opportunity seeking candidates ready to start as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and resolve complex medication-related issues across patient populations from neonates to geriatrics.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and consults, providing evidence-based medication recommendations.
  • Lead and support Medication Safety initiatives and Antimicrobial Stewardship/Infectious Disease programs.
  • Develop, update, and implement treatment guidelines, protocols, and order sets.
  • Conduct research, quality improvement projects, and medication utilization reviews.
  • Respond to drug information inquiries and educate patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Precept pharmacy residents and students, and provide mentorship to pharmacists.
  • Engage in hospital and system committees including Pharmacy & Therapeutics and others focused on antimicrobial stewardship, sepsis, stroke, resuscitation, and sedation.
  • Support medication management compliance and participate in accreditation surveys.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active Georgia Pharmacist license.
  • PGY1 residency training preferred but not mandatory.
  • Oncology experience is required due to the roles specialized focus.
  • Infectious Disease or Antimicrobial Stewardship background highly preferred.
  • Clinical pharmacy experience in acute care/hospital settings, particularly with antimicrobial stewardship, medication safety, and decentralized clinical services.
