Pharmacist in Butler, PA

A part-time opportunity is available for a skilled pharmacist to support long-term care facilities in a contract role, providing 24 hours per week with a schedule aligned Monday through Friday, during pharmacy operating hours of 8 am 6 pm. This assignment is initially set for one month with the potential for extension based on need.

Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and verifying medication orders entered by data entry technicians for skilled nursing, personal care facilities, and hospice residents.
• Checking blister-packed medications as well as sterile and non-sterile preparations to ensure accuracy and safety.
• Responding to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing expertise on clinical questions.
• Counting controlled substances and maintaining accurate perpetual inventory records.
• Inspecting emergency medication boxes regularly.

Ideal candidates will meet the following qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Pharmacy.
• Licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of Pennsylvania in good standing.
• Minimum one year of pharmacist experience, with a preference for experience in long-term care environments.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, utilize fine motor skills, maintain required visual acuity, and lift up to 30 pounds.

Familiarity with software systems QS1, Docutrack, and PCC is important to excel in this role.
