This role focuses on managing and optimizing operational specialty practice areas within a busy hospital pharmacy setting. The Clinical Pharmacist Operations Specialist oversees key departments such as the IV room, diversion/narcotics management, informatics, and residency programs. This position combines leadership responsibilities with direct pharmaceutical care to patients, offering a dynamic and impactful work environment.

Schedule: 8 hours/day, Day Shift
Job Type: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations in various pharmacy specialty practice areas to ensure efficient and safe pharmaceutical services.
  • Provide pharmaceutical care to patients when required as a staff pharmacist.
  • Offer user support, perform maintenance, troubleshoot systems, and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and lead upgrade testing and training activities as a subject matter expert for operational specialty areas.
  • Serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students and residents, guiding their clinical education and development.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or Pharm.D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing with the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting.
  • Completion of PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency or fellowship plus either a PGY-2 Specialty Pharmacy Residency/fellowship or three-plus years of clinical pharmacy experience. Alternatively, five or more years of clinical pharmacy experience without residency or fellowship.
  • BLS and ALS/ACLS certification.
  • Compliance with other applicable state requirements such as sterile compounding.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
  • Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) certification or other recognized specialty training or certification relevant to the practice area.
