A professional pharmacist position is available for a contract-to-hire role located in Centerton, AR, specializing in home infusion. This role offers a dynamic day schedule from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekend shifts every third weekend, spanning approximately 13 weeks initially.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Monitor patient medication use, identifying compliance issues or over-usage.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation with precision.
  • Advise patients on medication usage, potential side effects, storage, and drug interactions.
  • Provide additional patient services, including smoking cessation support, blood pressure screening, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications for internal or external use, preparing sterile solutions following established protocols.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, ensuring workflow and compliance.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies efficiently.
  • Collaborate with healthcare practitioners, including physicians, nurses, and pharmacy interns, to resolve drug-related issues and optimize patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Active Arkansas pharmacy license.
  • Demonstrated sterile compounding experience required.
  • Home infusion or inpatient hospital pharmacy background preferred.
  • CPR certification and experience are a strong advantage.
  • Proficient with pharmacy software systems, with CPR+ experience considered a plus.
