Retail Pharmacist | Cleveland, Ohio

A specialty retail pharmacy is seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate pharmacist to support their Cleveland, OH location on a contract basis. This position involves working with a complex patient population requiring specialized care and attention.

Responsibilities:

• Dispense and manage medications for patients taking 8-15 medications daily.
• Provide thorough patient consultations with patience and clear communication.
• Support patients managing advanced chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis.
• Utilize Pioneer Rx software for prescription management.
• Engage with Medicare/Medicaid patients, many with low literacy, requiring a compassionate approach to patient care.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure optimal medication therapy and patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Licensed pharmacist with retail and specialty pharmacy experience highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the top 200-400 drugs commonly prescribed in a retail setting.
• Excellent communication and patient consultation skills, especially with chronically ill and complex patients.
• Ability to work patiently and empathetically with low income and low literacy patient populations.
• Familiarity with Pioneer Rx software is a plus.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Contract duration approximately 4 to 6 weeks starting 11/19, with potential extension until a long-term solution is in place.
