Hospital Pharmacist | Coraopolis, Pennsylvania
A direct hire opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist to support emergency department (ED) and critical care unit (CCU) services, as well as contribute to the antibiotic stewardship team. This role offers a diverse clinical experience by working across multiple units rather than being restricted to one specialty area, providing significant opportunities to grow and expand clinical expertise.
Location:
- State College, PA a vibrant community known for its beautiful surroundings and home to Penn State University. Relocation assistance is available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Medication order entry and verification, reviewing medication profiles for appropriateness.
- Providing clinical services tailored to patient needs in ED and ICU settings.
- Participating in multi-disciplinary rounds and teams in assigned practice areas.
- Performing drug therapy monitoring and pharmacist-managed consults according to protocols.
- Engaging in acute patient care scenarios such as cardiac arrest, stroke, sepsis, and trauma in emergency and critical care settings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
- Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) residency or a minimum of 3 years recent clinical pharmacy experience.
- Licensed to practice pharmacy in Pennsylvania, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
Additional Details:
- Work Schedule: Variable days and afternoons, mainly 8-hour day shifts.
- Technology: Experience with Meditech is preferred.
