IV Compounding Pharmacist - Cullman, AL

A contract-to-hire opportunity is available for a skilled pharmacist specializing in non-sterile compounding at a growing veterinary compounding pharmacy near Huntsville, AL. This close-knit, closed-door facility focuses on preparing primarily non-sterile medications for animal patients, including equine prescriptions, with a daily volume exceeding 200 shipped prescriptions.

Location: Hartselle, AL (approximately 30 minutes from Huntsville)

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 AM 4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support a team of 34 pharmacy technicians
• Verify prescriptions and oversee daily workflow to ensure efficiency and accuracy
• Review and maintain consistency of established compounding formulations
• Ensure strict compliance with compounding procedures, quality standards, and pharmacy regulations
• Assist with inventory management and contribute to smooth daily operations
• Foster a collaborative environment by taking ownership of responsibilities

Qualifications:

Must Have:

• Active Alabama pharmacist license
• Proven experience in non-sterile compounding
• Ability to lead and supervise pharmacy technicians effectively
• Exceptional attention to detail and adaptability
• Strong work ethic and a team-oriented approach

Highly Preferred:

• Veterinary, animal, or equine compounding knowledge
• Background in a high-volume compounding setting
• Experience with Pharmetica software (training available if needed)
