Travel Retail Long Term Care Pharmacist in Des Moines, IA

A specialty pharmacy is seeking an experienced pharmacist to fulfill a travel assignment in Webster City, IA. This role involves providing expert pharmaceutical care in both long-term care and retail settings, ensuring optimal medication use and patient safety.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and dispense medications for long-term care and retail pharmacy patients
• Counsel patients on prescription use, side effects, and interactions
• Review prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations and safety standards
• Occasionally work some weekends to support pharmacy operations

Qualifications:

• Current pharmacist license in Iowa or eligible for an Iowa temporary license
• Experience in long-term care and retail pharmacy settings preferred
• Immunization certification is highly desired
• CPR certification is preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm
• Some weekend shifts required
