Inpatient Pharmacist | Des Plaines, Illinois

This opportunity is for a Pharmacist specializing in inpatient hospital care, working on an evening shift with rotating weekends. The position requires hands-on experience in inpatient pharmacy duties, including medication verification, supervising pharmacy technicians, and checking intravenous (IV) medications.

Location:

• Des Plaines, IL (Oak Park vicinity)

Schedule:

• Evenings, 12:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• Rotating weekends

Duration:

• 13-week contract starting 10/26

Responsibilities:

• Accurately check and verify medication orders for inpatients
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure efficiency and compliance
• Perform IV medication checks according to hospital protocols
• Utilize EMR systems, specifically EPIC, to manage patient medication records

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year recent inpatient pharmacy experience required
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system
• Strong attention to detail and thorough knowledge of inpatient pharmacy workflows
