A prestigious 500-bed hospital in Northern Virginia is seeking a dedicated Night Pharmacist to join their clinical team on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic hospital environment, providing critical pharmaceutical care during night shifts.
Location: Northern Virginia Front Royal, VA
Schedule: Night shifts, 7 days on/7 days off (9:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
System Technology: EPIC electronic health records, Pyxis medication dispensing systems
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians during night operations
- Apply pharmacokinetic principles to optimize drug therapies
- Consult and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Virginia Pharmacist license required
- Experience in an inpatient hospital setting preferred
- Proven ability to work independently during night shifts
- Familiarity with EPIC and Pyxis systems is a strong asset
