Hospital Pharmacist in Gardnerville, NV

An opportunity is available for a dedicated pharmacist to work night shifts in a 175-bed hospital setting. This role supports patient care by ensuring accurate medication distribution and collaborating closely with healthcare professionals. The position requires a pharmacist licensed in Nevada with experience in a hospital pharmacy environment and the capability to work overnight hours.

Location:

• Gardnerville, Nevada, with night shifts primarily in Reno.

Schedule:

• 7 consecutive nights on followed by 7 nights off
• 10-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth pharmacy workflow
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding medication therapies and patient care
• Apply pharmacokinetic principles to optimize dosing and therapeutic outcomes
• Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for medication management

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active Nevada pharmacist license
• Prior hospital pharmacy experience is essential
• Comfortable and capable of working night shifts
• Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
• Proficiency in using hospital IT systems, specifically EPIC and Pyxis, is preferred
