Inpatient Pharmacist - Glendale, CA
An opportunity is available for a skilled inpatient pharmacist to support a large health system serving multiple outpatient clinics and hospitals. This role is based in Glendale, CA, providing essential pharmaceutical care within the hospital inpatient setting. Candidates with recent PGY1 residency completion are preferred; however, those without PGY1 but possessing some hospital experience, including internships, will also be considered.

Schedule:
- 8-hour shifts
- Primarily 1st and 2nd shifts
- Occasional 3rd shift coverage as needed
- Flexibility with scheduling is required
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist eligible to practice in California
- PGY1 residency preferred; candidates without PGY1 but with hospital experience considered
- Experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy settings (internship experience included)
- Strong knowledge of medication dispensing, pharmaceutical protocols, and hospital regulatory requirements
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Responsibilities:
- Accurately dispensing medications for hospitalized patients
- Reviewing medication orders and clinical data for appropriateness and safety
- Collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize therapeutic outcomes
- Monitoring drug therapies and providing education to clinical staff and patients
- Maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
This position operates within the Los Angeles County Department of Health System, a well-established public healthcare network. Pharmacists on this contract role are employed through an agency but have the opportunity to apply for permanent positions within the County system. While timelines vary, many pharmacists have successfully transitioned from contract to permanent roles.
