This role offers an excellent opportunity to apply your pharmacy expertise in a dynamic long-term care and mail order environment. The position involves a range of clinical and supervisory responsibilities aimed at ensuring safe and effective medication management for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns.
  • Ensure all medication supplies comply with legal standards.
  • Verify the suitability of prescribed medicines for patients.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation with precision.
  • Provide patient counseling on medication usage, potential reactions, storage, dosage, and drug interactions.
  • Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the use and handling of medical devices including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications for both internal and external use, including sterile solutions following proper procedures.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks, ensuring smooth pharmacy operations.
  • Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventories.
  • Identify and communicate drug-related problems effectively to physicians and healthcare practitioners.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Washington State Pharmacist license.
  • Experience in long-term care, mail order, or retail pharmacy settings.
  • Strong patient communication skills and clinical judgment.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

This is an 8-week contract assignment with all agreements finalized.
