Pediatric Inpatient Pharmacist in Hartford, CT

A healthcare facility in New Haven, CT is seeking an Inpatient/Pediatric Pharmacist for a 13-week contract starting September 21. This position involves caring for pediatric patients in a hospital inpatient setting, supporting both clinical and operational pharmacy functions. The schedule includes a mix of day and evening shifts with rotating weekends, comprised of five 8-hour shifts per week.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing comprehensive pharmacy services in inpatient and pediatric care areas
• Collaborating with healthcare teams in clinical settings focused on childrens and womens health
• Managing medication dispensing processes and sterile preparations in the pharmacy, potentially serving as Pharmacist in Charge
• Utilizing pharmacy systems such as EPIC and Pyxis for medication management and documentation
• Adhering to hospital policies and safety protocols to ensure quality patient care

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of inpatient pharmacy experience
• PGY1 residency training preferred; candidates with 2-3 years of relevant experience without residency will also be considered
• Exposure to pediatric and womens health pharmacy practices is highly desirable
• Ability to obtain a Connecticut Pharmacist license within 7-10 days
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record and Pyxis automated dispensing systems

Schedule:

• Rotating shifts including days and evenings
• 5x8-hour shifts per week, including weekends
