IV Compounding Pharmacist in Hartselle, AL

A growing, close-knit veterinary compounding pharmacy in Hartselle, AL is seeking a skilled Non-Sterile Compounding Pharmacist to join their team. This role offers a contract-to-hire opportunity with an immediate start, ideally transitioning seamlessly after November 5th. The pharmacy specializes in non-sterile medications primarily for animal patients, including equine prescriptions, and operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Location:

• Hartselle, AL (approximately 30 minutes from Huntsville, AL)

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and support a team of 34 pharmacy technicians.
• Perform prescription verification and oversee daily workflow to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Review and maintain established formulations, ensuring consistency and compliance with quality standards.
• Uphold adherence to compounding procedures, pharmacy regulations, and safety protocols.
• Assist with inventory management and daily pharmacy operations.
• Contribute proactively to a collaborative and solution-focused team environment.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active Alabama Pharmacist license (required).
• Proven expertise in non-sterile compounding.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise technicians and manage workflow effectively.
• Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and eagerness to learn.
• Excellent work ethic paired with a team-oriented mindset.

Highly Preferred:

• Experience with veterinary, animal, or equine compounding.
• Background in high-volume compounding settings.
• Familiarity with Pharmetica system (training available if needed).

This pharmacy processes over 200 prescriptions daily and works with a formulary of 2530 regularly reordered medications.
