A part-time Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) is needed for a specialized opioid treatment center in Alexandria, Louisiana. This role primarily involves managing pharmacy operations in a focused, compliance-driven environment with minimal patient interaction. The position follows a consistent early morning schedule, providing a stable routine and the opportunity to transition into a permanent role after a one-year contract.
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 5:00 AM 10:00 AM 20 hours per week
Responsibilities: Oversee pharmacy operations as Pharmacist in Charge Conduct chart reviews and maintain meticulous documentation Verify and fill prescriptions when technician support is unavailable Complete internal reporting, primarily using Microsoft Excel Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations Operate independently during technician absences Limit patient interaction unless specifically requested No involvement with billing or insurance processes
Qualifications: Active pharmacist license in Louisiana, with a clean disciplinary record 35 years of pharmacy experience required Experience in substance abuse or opioid treatment preferred but not mandatory Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable with detailed record-keeping Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
