A well-established closed-door mail order pharmacy in Gaithersburg is seeking an experienced, multi-licensed Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to join their growing team on an ongoing part-time basis. This pharmacy has built a strong operational foundation with an experienced team of pharmacists, PICs, and six dedicated pharmacy technicians and they are looking to add another collaborative leader to the group.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced LTC/mail order pharmacist seeking a consistent part-time schedule within a supportive and team-oriented environment.

Position Details

  • Assignment Length: 13+ weeks ongoing
  • Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays
  • Potential Expansion: Possible third day in the future
  • Shift: 7:00 AM 3:00 PM
  • Hours: 1624 hours per week
  • Setting: Closed-Door Mail Order / Long-Term Care Pharmacy

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) overseeing daily pharmacy operations
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations
  • Supervise pharmacists and pharmacy technicians while maintaining efficient workflow operations
  • Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy and patient safety
  • Maintain quality assurance initiatives, controlled substance compliance, and pharmacy documentation standards
  • Collaborate with providers, nursing teams, and facility staff to support optimal patient care and timely medication delivery
  • Assist with sterile compounding and clean room operations if experienced and comfortable in that environment

Required Qualifications

  • Active Maryland Pharmacist License (required)
  • Additional active pharmacist licenses in most of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas

Preferred Experience

  • 2+ years of pharmacy management experience
  • 2+ years of recent Long-Term Care and/or Mail Order pharmacy experience
  • Sterile compounding experience is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to start ASAP
