Pharmacist in Charge - Downingtown, PA
This opportunity is for an experienced Pharmacist in Charge to oversee pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance with a focus on compound pharmacy standards. The role is based in Kennett Square, PA, and offers a 13-week contract to hire arrangement, ideal for pharmacists ready to take on leadership responsibilities in a dynamic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the legally designated Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for all non-resident state pharmacy licenses.
- Act as the main liaison for Boards of Pharmacy, inspectors, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure timely reporting of operational, ownership, or facility changes as well as PIC transitions.
- Provide oversight of both sterile and non-sterile compounding operations.
- Lead quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Supervise pharmacists, compounding supervisors, technicians, and production staff.
- Manage daily batch record processes including creation, execution, review, and approval.
- Support production scheduling to meet delivery deadlines, maintain inventory accuracy, and plan capacity.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
- Flexible availability on Saturdays if required
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist License
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Pharmacist in Charge or Pharmacy Manager
- Comprehensive knowledge of USP standards and relevant state and federal regulations pertaining to 503A compounding pharmacies
- Proven experience leading audits and managing regulatory inspections
