Retail Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) | Elk Grove, California

A retail pharmacy is seeking an Interim Pharmacist In Charge to manage daily operations and ensure exceptional patient care. This contract position offers an immediate start and an opportunity to lead a pharmacy team for approximately 8-13 weeks.

Location: Elk Grove, CA (serving Sacramento/El Dorado Hills areas)
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM 6:30 PM
• Saturday: 9:00 AM 5:30 PM
• Sunday: Closed

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee full-cycle prescription processing and dispensing, including communication with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients
• Manage and supervise pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance with regulations and smooth workflow
• Open and close the pharmacy following corporate and legal protocols
• Complete all Pharmacist In Charge paperwork and maintain regulatory compliance

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current California pharmacist license (in-hand)
• Minimum 2 years of recent retail pharmacy experience, with strong preference for prior Pharmacist In Charge experience
• Immunization certification and current BLS card required
• Proficiency with McKesson Enterprise (ERx) system preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
