A part-time Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) position is available at an opioid treatment center in Louisiana, offering a consistent early morning schedule and the possibility to transition into a permanent role after the contract period. This 1-year contract role involves overseeing pharmacy operations within a specialized treatment setting focused on compliance and patient safety.
Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
- 5:00 AM 10:00 AM
- 20 hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Pharmacist in Charge, managing all pharmacy operations
- Perform chart reviews and maintain accurate documentation
- Verify and fill prescriptions when technician support is unavailable
- Complete internal reports and forms using Excel
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Work independently in a low-supervision environment
- Engage in limited patient interaction unless requested
- No responsibilities related to billing or insurance
Qualifications:
- Active Louisiana Pharmacist license in good standing with no negative history
- 35 years of pharmacy experience required
- Experience in substance abuse or opioid treatment preferred but not mandatory
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel essential
- Ability to work independently and maintain attention to detail
