Per Diem Inpatient Outpatient Pharmacist in Charge in Pollock, LA

A specialized opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) at an Opioid Treatment Center in Alexandria, Louisiana. This part-time, per diem role offers a unique blend of pharmacy leadership and clinical oversight within a focused treatment setting.

Location: Alexandria, Louisiana
Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
• 5:00 AM 10:00 AM
• Approximately 20 hours per week

Responsibilities:

• Direct pharmacy operations as the Pharmacist in Charge, ensuring smooth daily functions
• Perform thorough chart reviews and maintain precise documentation
• Verify and fill prescriptions, stepping in when technician support is unavailable
• Prepare internal reports and complete forms using Microsoft Excel
• Maintain strict compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations
• Operate independently with minimal oversight, especially during technician absences
• Limited patient interaction unless specifically requested
• No billing or insurance processing duties involved

Qualifications:

• Active Louisiana Pharmacist license in good standing with no negative disciplinary history
• 3 to 5 years of pharmacy experience; background in substance abuse or opioid treatment is preferred but not mandatory
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and reliably, critical due to limited support staff

This 1-year contract offers an attractive $65 per hour compensation rate and holds potential for contract extension or transition to permanent status for the right candidate.
