A part-time Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) opportunity is available at an opioid treatment center in Alexandria, Louisiana. This role offers a consistent early morning schedule, focusing on pharmacy operations oversight with minimal patient interactions. After an initial 1-year contract, there is potential for extension or transition to a permanent position.
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 5:00 AM 10:00 AM 20 hours per week
Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily pharmacy operations as Pharmacist in Charge Review patient charts and maintain accurate documentation Verify and fill prescriptions when technician support is unavailable Complete required internal reports and forms using Microsoft Excel Ensure full compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations Operate independently during periods without technician assistance Limited patient interaction unless specifically requested No billing or insurance duties involved
Qualifications: Active Louisiana Pharmacist license in good standing with no negative history 35 years of professional pharmacy experience Experience with substance abuse or opioid treatment preferred but not mandatory Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required Strong ability to work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy and compliance
