Hospital Pediatric Pharmacist - Jacksonville, Arkansas

Location: Jacksonville, AR
Schedule:
- 8-hour day shifts
- Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Compound and dispense medications according to physicians orders.
- Consult with medical staff regarding drug interactions, patient history, and medication use.
- Verify medication appropriateness based on pediatric patient factors such as diagnosis, weight, age, and body surface area.
- Identify and resolve potential drug therapy issues including allergies, interactions, and adverse reactions.
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy documentation, regulatory, and hospital procedures.
- Monitor patient outcomes and provide drug-related recommendations for optimal therapy.
- Educate patients, healthcare personnel, and trainees on medication use and safety.
- Manage medication orders, including non-formulary approvals, substitutions, inventory, and ordering supplies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Arkansas pharmacist license
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience, preferably in pediatrics
- IV experience or IV certification
- Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) credential preferred
