Hospital Pharmacist - Kansas City, Missouri
A 250-bed community hospital in the Kansas City suburbs is seeking a licensed Pharmacist for a contract assignment starting ASAP. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for retail pharmacists wanting to expand their expertise in a hospital setting. Both local candidates and travelers willing to relocate are welcome to apply.
Location:
- Independence, MO (Kansas City metro area)
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Supervise pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth workflow
- Apply pharmacokinetic principles for optimal patient care
- Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff for medication consultations
- Utilize Meditech and Pyxis systems for medication management
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Missouri Pharmacist license mandatory
- Prior hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong communication skills with ability to educate and consult healthcare team members
- Detail-oriented with commitment to patient safety and quality care
This is a contract position lasting a minimum of 26 weeks with potential to extend. It is an excellent chance to develop hospital pharmacy skills within a supportive community hospital environment.
