Pharmacist in Kittanning, PA

A long-term care pharmacy is seeking a Part-Time Contract Pharmacist to work 24 hours per week with an initial assignment of one month and the possibility of extension. This role is based in Kittanning, PA, and involves supporting skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for multiple care settings.
• Inspect blister-packed medications as well as sterile and non-sterile drugs.
• Respond to inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, providing clinical guidance.
• Perform controlled substance counts and maintain accurate perpetual inventory records.
• Check emergency medication boxes to ensure proper stocking and accuracy.

Schedule:

• 24 hours per week, Monday through Friday
• Pharmacy operating hours: 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Technology:

• Utilize QS1, Docutrack, and PCC operating systems efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Pharmacy.
• Active pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, in good standing.
• Minimum of one year of pharmacist experience; long-term care experience preferred.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, and use fine motor skills; visual acuity required.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
