IV Sterile Compounding Inpatient Pharmacist in Lakeview, OR
This opportunity is ideal for a pharmacist with inpatient hospital experience seeking a rewarding role in a critical access hospital setting. The position offers day shifts, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no on-call responsibilities. The schedule is per diem and spans 13 weeks, with flexibility for travelers open to working in Lakeview, OR.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the staff pharmacist providing pharmaceutical care in a 25-bed critical access hospital (daily census approximately 10 beds)
- Manage medication order entry using Cerner electronic health records system
- Perform sterile compounding adhering to USP 797 clean room guidelines to ensure patient safety and compliance
- Coordinate with pharmacy technicians (typically 2 on-site daily) and utilize Omnicell automation for efficient medication dispensing
- Fill in on a PRN basis for designated weeks throughout the 13-week period, supporting continuity of care within the hospitals pharmacy operations
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Oregon pharmacy license required
- Proven inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
- Competency in sterile compounding according to USP 797 standards
- Familiarity with Cerner EHR and Omnicell automation preferred
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
