A critical access hospital in Lakeview, OR, seeks a pharmacist for a 13-week per diem engagement, with the opportunity to transition to permanent status. This role is well-suited for traveling pharmacists interested in working in a close-knit, inpatient hospital environment.

The pharmacist will work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no on-call duties. The facility operates a 25-bed hospital with a daily census averaging 10 patients. You will join a team supported by two pharmacy technicians daily, leveraging Cerner for order entry and Omnicell automation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care as a staff pharmacist in an inpatient critical access hospital
  • Manage medication order entry through Cerner system accurately and efficiently
  • Perform sterile compounding in compliance with USP 797 clean room guidelines
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure safe and effective medication use within the hospital
  • Fill in on a PRN basis for specified weeks throughout the 13-week contract

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Oregon pharmacist license is mandatory
  • Demonstrated inpatient pharmacy experience, specifically in hospital inpatient settings
  • Skilled in sterile compounding adhering to USP 797 standards
  • Proficient in using Cerner electronic health records for order entry
  • Experience working with hospital automation systems like Omnicell is preferred
