Inpatient Pharmacist | Lansdale, Pennsylvania
This opportunity offers a rewarding role for a licensed Pharmacist specializing in hospital inpatient care. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring safe and effective medication use within a hospital setting, contributing directly to patient health outcomes.
Location: Lansdale, PA
Type: Contract (starting 8/3, duration 13-26 weeks)
Schedule:
- AM Shift: 07:00 15:30
- Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week (5 x 8-hour shifts)
Key Responsibilities:
- Review medication orders from physicians and physician extenders to confirm drug appropriateness, dosage, frequency, and route.
- Assess patient history, allergies, drug interactions, and lab data for potential clinical issues before dispensing medications.
- Maintain inventory control of pharmaceutical supplies.
- Provide accurate drug information and support to healthcare team members for optimal patient care.
- Supervise pharmacy students and technicians to ensure safe and accurate medication preparation.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in discharge planning and continuity of care.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy is required; PharmD preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year hospital experience or completion of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) in a clinical setting preferred.
- Valid Pennsylvania Pharmacist License required.
- Basic Life Support certification preferred.
