A healthcare facility in State College, PA, is seeking a dedicated Staff Pharmacist to contribute to both inpatient and ambulatory care pharmacy services. This role offers the unique opportunity to diversify clinical skills by working across multiple pharmacy disciplines rather than being limited to one specific area. Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter and review medication orders for patients.
  • Dispense medications promptly and safely.
  • Provide timely and precise drug information.
  • Document patient monitoring and clinical evaluations using pharmacy computer systems and clinical surveillance tools.
  • Oversee sterile compounding operations, ensuring aseptic techniques and high standards.
  • Prepare high-risk medications, including narcotic infusions and cytotoxic chemotherapy drugs.
  • Perform drug therapy monitoring and pharmacist-managed consults according to established protocols.
  • In ambulatory care assignments, facilitate and document drug therapy decisions through recommendations and collaborative practice agreements.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
  • Completion of PGY1 residency or a minimum of 3 years current clinical pharmacy experience.
  • Licensed pharmacist in Pennsylvania or eligible to obtain licensure.
  • Familiarity with Meditech pharmacy systems is preferred.

Schedule:

  • Mainly day shifts with some variable days/afternoons.
  • 8-hour shifts.
