Hospital Pediatric Pharmacist - Little Rock, AR

A dynamic hospital pharmacy opportunity is available for a pharmacist with pediatric and inpatient experience. This role is based in Little Rock, Arkansas at a 359-bed, Level 1 trauma teaching hospital specializing in pediatric care. As a key member of a passionate, fast-paced healthcare team, you will provide expert pharmaceutical care in a cutting-edge environment.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Current Arkansas pharmacist license required
• Minimum 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience preferred
• IV experience or IV Certification highly preferred
• Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) designation a plus
• New graduates with strong academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities:

• Compound and dispense medications according to physicians orders with a focus on pediatric patients
• Consult with medical staff regarding drug interactions, patient histories, and optimal medication usage
• Provide accurate medication information and dosage guidance to patients and healthcare providers
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy data documentation, regulatory standards, and security procedures
• Verify dosing appropriateness based on diagnosis, weight, age, and body surface area
• Identify and intervene in cases of allergies, drug interactions, adverse drug reactions, and therapeutic duplications
• Recommend cost-effective alternative therapies and assess non-formulary medication needs
• Maintain high standards in medication preparation, labeling, and quality assurance
• Process medication orders efficiently with proper prioritization
• Engage in patient care activities and collaborate with healthcare teams for optimal outcomes
• Participate in education and training of patients, technicians, pharmacists, and students
• Conduct drug utilization reviews, monitor therapeutic outcomes, and support discharge planning
• Manage medication inventory, including ordering, substitution, and loan/borrow coordination
