Inpatient Pharmacist - Los Angeles, California
A Pharmacist is needed immediately to support a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) and rehabilitation hospital environment in downtown Los Angeles, near Dodger Stadium. This role focuses on providing expert pharmaceutical care to patients, many of whom are on ventilators, requiring specialized inpatient knowledge and careful attention to clinical detail.
Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians
- Collaborate closely with physicians to ensure optimal patient care
- Apply pharmacokinetics principles in managing medication therapies
- Maintain compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
- Provide guidance and consultation on medication management within an inpatient setting
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid California pharmacist license
- Proven inpatient hospital pharmacy experience, preferably in LTAC or rehab settings
- Familiarity with Meditech electronic health record systems is highly preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Local candidates or those willing to commute within the Los Angeles area are preferred
Schedule:
- 4 days per week, 10-hour day shifts
- Potential for a Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday schedule
- Month-to-month contract with potential for extension
