Pediatric Hospital Pharmacist - Lubbock, Texas
A specialized night pharmacist role is available at a well-established childrens hospital in Lubbock, TX. This contract position is ideal for a pharmacist with pediatric experience who is licensed in Texas and skilled in inpatient hospital pharmacy practice. The assignment begins ASAP and spans approximately six months, with a unique shift schedule and a future transition to a day shift.
Responsibilities:
- Manage medication dispensing and distribution for pediatric patients in an inpatient setting.
- Utilize pharmacy information systems including EPIC and Pyxis for accurate medication order verification and inventory management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary hospital teams to ensure safe and effective medication therapy.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and pediatric care protocols.
- Provide clinical interventions and support for pediatric medication management during night hours.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current, active pharmacist license in Texas.
- Experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy, preferably in a pediatric setting.
- Proficiency with EPIC and Pyxis systems is highly preferred.
- Strong clinical knowledge of pediatric pharmacotherapy.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently during night shifts.
Location:
- Lubbock, Texas
Schedule:
- Night shift from 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM
- 7 days on, 7 days off rotation
- Transition to day shift coverage (July/August) for a pharmacist on FMLA through mid-January 2027
