Pharmacist - Madison, NE

A healthcare facility is seeking a skilled pharmacist to work night shifts in Norfolk, NE, at a 120-bed Level III trauma center. This travel pharmacist role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical inpatient care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Schedule and Location

• Location: Norfolk, NE
• Shift: Night (8:00 pm to 7:00 am)
• Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off (Wednesday to Tuesday)

Responsibilities

• Validate medication orders and perform kinetic dosing calculations
• Conduct medication checks prior to distribution to ensure safety and accuracy
• Provide answers and support to nursing staff regarding medication-related inquiries
• Oversee medication compounding during night hours
• Fill outpatient prescriptions for emergency department patients overnight
• Collaborate closely with pharmacy technicians for efficient operations

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid Nebraska pharmacist license required
• Minimum of 1 year inpatient hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Experience with Epic electronic medical records is preferred; training will be provided if needed
• Ability to work independently during overnight shifts and support clinicians in a trauma center setting

Additional Information

• This is a contract position, starting ASAP, with an expected duration of at least 13 weeks
• The pharmacist will have tech support available during the shift, enhancing workflow and patient safety
