Travel Hospital Pharmacist in Madison, WI

This travel pharmacist opportunity offers a dynamic role within a 75-bed hospital setting, providing comprehensive pharmacy services to diverse inpatient and outpatient departments. Located in the Madison, WI area with assignment in Medford, WI, this position allows you to apply your expertise in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Schedule/Hours:

• Mainly 10-hour day shifts
• Rotating weekends with 8-hour shifts

Responsibilities:

• Manage multiple tasks in the central inpatient pharmacy, including verifying EPIC medication orders, reviewing technician work, and responding to pharmacist inquiries
• Prepare and dispense inpatient and outpatient intravenous therapies, inpatient unit dose medications, and outpatient chemotherapy treatments
• Serve departments such as Med/Surg, OB/GYN, ICU, ED, inpatient and outpatient surgery, and outpatient oncology
• Maintain accuracy and efficiency while supporting an inpatient census of 30-40 patients

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Licensed pharmacist with hospital pharmacy experience
• Proficient in using EPIC for medication order verification and documentation
• Comfortable managing a wide range of medication types, including chemotherapy and IV preparations
• Ability to perform independently in a high-volume, inpatient-focused pharmacy setting
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with healthcare teams and pharmacy technicians
