Travel Hospital Pharmacist - Madison, WI

A travel pharmacist opportunity is available at a 75-bed hospital in Medford, WI, specializing in inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services. This role offers an engaging experience within a hospital setting focused on diverse patient care areas, including Med/Surg, OB/GYN, ICU, and outpatient oncology.

Schedule and Location:

• Primarily day shifts with 10-hour shifts
• Weekend rotations with 8-hour shifts
• 13+ week assignment starting ASAP
• Located in Medford, WI

Responsibilities:

• Manage multiple concurrent duties in a central inpatient pharmacy environment
• Verify medication orders using EPIC electronic health records
• Review and check work completed by pharmacy technicians
• Respond promptly to pharmacist phone inquiries
• Prepare and provide inpatient and outpatient IV medications, unit dose medications, and outpatient chemotherapy
• Support care in a variety of departments, including surgery, med/surg, ICU, emergency department, OB/GYN, and oncology units
• Maintain accurate records and ensure patient safety throughout the medication use process

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Licensed pharmacist with experience in a hospital pharmacy setting
• Proficient in EPIC systems for medication order verification and documentation
• Familiarity with inpatient and outpatient medication preparation, including chemotherapy and IV therapy
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment managing multiple responsibilities
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
