Inpatient Pediatric Pharmacist in New Britain, CT

This opportunity is for a skilled inpatient pharmacist with pediatric experience to support a prominent hospitals childrens health services. The role offers a dynamic rotation of days, evenings, and weekends, providing exposure to a clinical environment focused on inpatient and pediatric care. Candidates with experience in womens health are also encouraged to apply, as there is flexibility to serve in clinical or operational roles such as Pharmacist in Charge or sterile processing depending on skills and competence.

Location: New Britain, CT (assignment based in New Haven)

Schedule:

• 5x 8-hour shifts per week
• Mix of days and evenings with rotating weekends

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide pharmaceutical care to pediatric and inpatient populations
• Support medication dispensing in clinical or operational pharmacy settings
• Collaborate with medical staff to ensure safe and effective medication use
• Participate in sterile processing and oversee pharmacy operations if assigned
• Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for medication management

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Minimum 3 years pharmacy experience, ideally with PGY1 training; 2-3 years accepted without residency
• Experience in inpatient pharmacy; exposure to childrens and womens health highly valued
• CT Pharmacist license (can be acquired within 7-10 days)
• Familiarity with EPIC and Pyxis medication systems

This 13-week contract starts on September 21 and enables pharmacists to leverage their pediatric inpatient expertise in a supportive and state-of-the-art hospital environment.
