Inpatient Pediatric Pharmacist in New York, NY
An opportunity exists for an experienced inpatient pharmacist to provide specialized care in a pediatric hospital setting. This 13-week contract position based in New Haven, CT, offers a mix of day and evening shifts with rotating weekends, serving a leading children's hospital. Candidates with inpatient pharmacy experience and some exposure to pediatric or womens health will find this role well-suited to their skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver clinical pharmacy services in pediatric inpatient units, ensuring accurate medication management and patient safety.
- Participate operationally in dispensing pharmacy activities such as sterile processing or pharmacist-in-charge duties, depending on experience.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize pharmacotherapy for children and adolescents.
- Utilize systems like EPIC and Pyxis for electronic medical records and medication dispensing.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of pharmacy experience; PGY1 residency preferred, or 2-3 years if not residency-trained.
- Familiarity with pediatric and womens health pharmacy is advantageous.
- Ability to obtain a Connecticut Pharmacist license within 7-10 days.
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems.
Shift and Schedule:
- 5x8-hour shifts per week.
- Combination of day and evening shifts.
- Rotating weekends required.
